Looking Ahead to the New York Rangers 2015-2016 Pre-Season Games

It seems that there is one thing I’m doing whenever I get home: wishing there was New York Rangers hockey on.

Anything would cure my craving to see the boys on the ice at Madison Square Garden. However, with great pleasure, I can assure you that the preseason is coming fast. (Although not fast enough)

The Blueshirts’ Preseason opener takes place on September 21st, only four days away from today! The game will include the cross river rivals, the New Jersey Devils at home in MSG.

Every game is hard-hitting, grinding, and entertaining. This rivalry just seems to grow and grow every year. And, it’s begging to be a great hockey game. Even though it’s preseason, neither team wants to lose this game.

The following night, the New York Rangers take on yet another rival, the Philadelphia Flyers.

Just hearing that name makes my ears burn. And, seeing those orange jerseys make my eyes tear up. Playing in Philly for the night, the Rangers hope to build off of momentum from the Devils game the night before, even though the same guys might not play again.

The Flyers have always been enemies to the Rangers, so I’m expecting this one to be just like the Rangers-Devils, probably worse.

Next on the schedule, the Rangers play the Boston Bruins TD Garden on September 24th.

Here’s our first look at the 2015-2016 Original Six matchup between the two franchises. Not much tops the Rangers-Flyers, or Rangers-Devils. However, this game will be number one on my list. The two storied franchises are considered foundations, upon which the NHL was founded.

Anytime those teams face off, you’re asking for a good game.

On September 26th, the Rangers are in New Jersey for another faceoff against the Devils. I’m getting really excited for the season and the games between these two,

The 28th of September features the Flyers playing the Rangers back on home the Rangers ice. If you thought the Rangers Flyers was crazy in Philly, just wait until the Flyers step on the ice at MSG.

The final preseason game will be on September 30th, where the two teams will come back to New York to play one last time, before the games start to count for real.

Despite it being the preseason, I hope the Blueshirts play like every game will be worth two points. I understand it’s a time of adjustment, but the Rangers will need to work relentlessly hard if they want to win a championship.

At the moment, there is uncertainty with line combinations, and will certainly be tinkered by Alain Vigneault during this time. But you can bet guys like Brady Skjei, Dylan McIlrath, and Brandon Halverson will be trying to make a statement during their chances to play.

After the six preseason games, the real work begins as the Rangers seek the elusive Stanley Cup!

Just keep in mind everyone, one day passed is another day closer to hockey.
