Good morning and here is your daily dose for Saturday, New York Rangers fans.
Adidas to make Form-Fitting NHL Jerseys? – Yahoo Sports
Will the New York Rangers have a dramatically different look in a couple of years?
With Reebok no longer making NHL jerseys starting with the 2017-18 season, Adidas will redesign them and soon start producing them. One of Adidas’ ideas that is eye-catching, and not particularly for good reason, is that the jerseys could be form-fitting.
The type of material to be used will have Tech-Fit, the same technology used during the All-Star Game to track players’ movements and speed and all that good stuff. But having Tech-Fit could also mean having a tighter jersey.

Is Adidas trying to break years of tradition? If so, there would be some upset among avid hockey fans if their favorite players started looking like football players on skates.
But, Adidas says this will not be so. Yes the same technology will be implemented, but the jerseys will not be as form-fitting as football jerseys. However, they will have some degree of form-fitting. Perhaps we’ll see just a touch tighter jerseys.
Mark King, Group North America President for Adidas and the man responsible for the design of the new NHL jerseys, says, “There are different fits available. Our deal with the NHL is that they take the lead, and we’ll follow them.” So the Commissioner has the last say.
Knowing Commissioner Gary Bettman as a traditionalist, he’ll likely want the new NHL jerseys to resemble the old ones for the most part. And that is at least one thing about Bettman we can be happy about.
Donald Trump Challenged to Run a Hockey Team – NHL.com
If you can manage a professional hockey team, you can manage a country, right?
The AHL’s Syracuse Crunch (Tampa Bay Lightning‘s farm team) have challenged the Presidential candidate to learn how to run their team. Vance Lederman, star of the video, is the chief financial officer for the Crunch.
I highly doubt anything will come of this, but you never know what the Donald has up his sleeves…or in his hair.
Waiting on you now, Trump.
Montreal Canadiens Name Their Captain – NHL.com
The Habs have chosen a leader and that leader is of course Max Pacioretty. No surprise there. But the Canadiens sure tried to make it one.
How the new captain was informed of his promotion is absolutely hilarious. Pacioretty explained, “We voted, I went home and it was just a standard night…Marc called and said, ‘Open your front door.’ And I opened the front door and didn’t see anything. So…”
General Manager, Bergevin, finished the sentence: “We went to the wrong house.”
Pacioretty immediately picked up on what was going on, knowing that Bergevin and head coach Michel Therrien were meant to surprise him: “So once he saw which house it was they both pulled up and I knew right away… Nothing was said, but it was something I’ll remember forever.”
That’s all for this daily dose. See you again tomorrow.
