Welcome back to our latest edition. We are in the home stretch of a the 2015-2016 hockey season. With New York Rangers hockey kicking back up on Wednesday, start breaking out your Rangers garb and get ready to wear your team pride.

We have a couple of articles we found around the world wide web that we wanted to share this Friday:

The Nasher says time is now for the Stanley Cup- NHL.COM

While appearing at a promotional event at the NHL Store in downtown New York City, Rick Nash spoke about the importance of this year to the team.

"We’ve been close, and in this business close isn’t good enough. We have to be able to get the job done…I think our window is right now"

Knocking on the doorstep has been the team’s signature in three of the past four years. We all know the trials of the Rangers, the season ended in the Eastern Conference Finals, the magical Stanley Cup run in 2014.

Nash may have had a point. Every year the team doesn’t achieve it’s ultimate goal, another year the players get older and may start to lose their edge.

However, that’s where I believe the youth will need to step in and seize their opportunities.

Players like Oscar Lindberg, Kevin Hayes, Chris Kreider, J.T. Miller, and Jesper Fast, represent a transitioning from the old to the new. They’ve shown that they can provide that ability to rise when the situation warrants it.

And with this past Rangers preseason and training camp behind us, the future looks bright in that department.

Back to Nash’s point of the team’s “…window is right now, referring to winning a championship. For this group, it would be. Players like himself, Henrik Lundqvist, and Dan Girardi have been with the team for some time now. They, along with the fans, realize that it’s no longer an easy game when they were coming up. The wear and tear on their bodies might be starting to creep up.

Though, they have a few years left between them, this might be the strongest year for them to stake their claim to the Cup.

The Stanley Cup Champions will be the Anaheim Ducks, according to Electronic Arts- CBC.COM

Yes Rangers fans, the Ducks have been chosen by EA’s NHL 16 hockey simulator to be the team to take it hoist their second Stanley Cup championship.

In this tweet from yesterday, EA released a two-minute clip of all the players who they predict will win the NHL’s regular season awards. Included in that video, we the finalists for both the Eastern and Western Conference.

Last season’s teams, the Tampa Bay Lightning and Rangers were replaced by the Montreal Canadiens and Pittsburgh Penguins. On the other side, the Western Conference Final saw the Ducks and Minnesota Wild.

Ultimately, it would be the Ducks and Canadiens for the Stanley Cup Final, according to the simulation.

If fans ever needed a match to light the fuse, this may have been the one. Granted, it’s just a video game and not the real thing. However, I get a feeling that EA is overpricing the Canadiens because of Carey Price, and believing the hype in Anaheim.

In my opinion, any team under head coach Bruce Boudreau is suspect in the postseason. The Canadiens still need to show they can be the dominate team, they are capable of being.

Until those two questions are answered with facts in the playoffs, I say no to this dream.

And, that’s all for today. Have a great weekend and talk to you all soon!
