Martin St. Louis –

Martin St. Louis began his journey with the New York Rangers at the trade deadline in the 2013-2014 season. The Rangers traded their captain, Ryan Callahan, a 2015 first-round draft pick, a conditional 2014 second-round pick which turned into a first-round pick, and a conditional 2015 seventh-round pick.

St. Louis struggled offensively during the end of the regular season but was a key component in the Rangers fighting their way to the Stanley Cup final for the first time since 1994. St. Louis played in 93 games for the Rangers and tallied 22 goals and 38 assists for them during that time span.

St. Louis was a veteran leader for the Rangers during his time with them and helped them reach the Stanley Cup final and the Eastern Conference final in his 93 games with the Rangers.

Marian Gaborik –

Before joining the New York Rangers, Marian Gaborik was known by Rangers fans as the guy on the Minnesota Wild who tallied 6 points including 5 goals in one game against the Rangers. On July 1, 2009, Gaborik signed a five-year $37.5 million contract with the New York Rangers.

Gaborik didn’t take long to impress the Rangers as he scored 10 goals within the first 14 games of the season. The Rangers knew that Gaborik was injury prone and that came to light through out his four seasons in New York.

Marian Gaborik surpassed the 40 goal mark twice as a New York Ranger and had 114 goals and 115 assists during his 255 game stint with the New York Rangers.

Ryan Callahan –

Ryan Callahan was drafted by the New York Rangers with the 127th overall pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Level draft. Callahan debuted for the Rangers when he played 16 games during the 2006-2007 season at the age of 21. He earned himself a spot on the main roster a year later and was never sent back down to the AHL after that.

Callahan was named the 26th captain in New York Rangers history on September 12, 2011. He was always known for his hustle and his determination as a Ranger. He was rewarded for it as he earned the recipient of the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award. Callahan won the award four times in his eight years with the Rangers.

Callahan’s stint with the Rangers came to an end when his was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange of Martin St. Louis and a second-round draft pick in the 2015 draft.

Kevin Hayes –

Kevin Hayes was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks with the 24th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Level draft. Luckily enough for the New York Rangers, the Blackhawks weren’t able to sign him. Therefore, Hayes became an unrestricted free agent. He signed with the Rangers shortly after and started playing for the Rangers during the 2014-2015 season.

Hayes may be 24-years-old but he is quickly becoming one of the best right wingers the Rangers have had in the Henrik Lundqvist era. Hayes has now played in 230 games for the Rangers and has contributed 48 goals and 82 assists.

Kevin Hayes is still growing and the sky’s the limit for his potential to become one of the best right wingers in Rangers history.
