The two year $3.3 million contract Michale Grabner signed two years ago is one of the best bargains in the entire league.

The Rangers and Grabner are a match made in hockey heaven. The eight-year veteran has refound the goal-scoring touch that had eluded him for years. The Austrian winger is able to create several scoring chances per game just by outskating the other team.

For the second straight year, Grabner will be leading the team in goals going into the all-star break. He even has an argument that he should be going to the game to represent the Rangers, he’s been that impressive. Unfortunately, with a logjam at forward in the Metropolitan division, there was not much hope for Grabner.

In this competition, someone with Grabner’s straight ahead speed would dominate. Players like Dylan Larkin and Conor McDavid are blistering fast and it would be exciting to see if Grabner could hold his own against the young stars. For the record, if he were healthy, Chris Kreider would be awesome in this contest too. Maybe the Rangers can just do this in practice and settle who is the fastest player on the team.
