In nearly three full seasons with the Rangers, the Boston University-standout forward produced 84 goals and 183 points in just 234 games on Broadway, plus 11 points in 15 playoff matches.  And that was all before he turned age 24.

Had he not been traded to the Chicago Blackhawks on March 21, 1994, the 332 goals and 717 points he posted after being dealt could have been for the Rangers.  The kid from Boston’s South Shore was that talented.

But then, had he not been traded for Brian Noonan and Stephane Matteau, who knows how Game 7 of the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals would have turned out?
