About the Devils

The Devils will be without their two top scorers again in Pavel Zacha and Jesper Bratt. The only bit of good news is that Nathan Bastian is back from an injury.

In their practice on Friday, the Devils focused on getting shots on net.  Despite losing 4-0, the Devils had more shot attempts than the Rangers, 53-44.  They also had 24 scoring chances to the Rangers’ 16.  The problem is despite the 53 shot attempts, only 16 got through to Igor Shesterkin.

They missed the net with 17 shots and the Rangers had a whopping 20 blocked shots.  That’s one reason why Lindy Ruff had reason to be encouraged by the Devils’ play as much as David Quinn was concerned.
