About the Rangers

Igor Shesterkin will be in goal again, making his 15th start in 19 games since March 25.  In that time he has a save percentage (Sv%) of .918 and a goals against average (GAA) of 2.62.   While those numbers may not seem that good, they are greatly affected by the 6-1 loss to the Islanders. Take that game out and he has a .926 Sv% and a 2.37 GAA.

According to David Quinn, Jacob Trouba will miss his fourth game, though he has resumed skating.  Colin Blackwell took an awkward hit to the boards on Sunday and is still feeling the effects and will be a game time decision.  Based on the lines in practice, if he is unable to play, he will be replaced by Phil Di Giuseppe though the question would be who would play with Ryan Strome and Artemi Panarin.

Quinn has been mixing up his defense pairings, playing Libor Hajek with Adam Fox and Ryan Lindgren with Zac Jones.  The coach was asked for his assessment of how it has worked out. Quinn’s answer was “I think it’s been pretty good…under these circumstances the pairing sare what we need to be…I think they’ve done fine.”    Okay…..

The game a week from Saturday (May 8) against the Bruins has been moved to  a 3pm start time from  7pm. <
