My 3 Rangers stars

  1. Artemi Panarin is playing at his best right now and this was his best game of the season. It was his second two-goal game and his first four-point game. He’s deadly on the power play and his passing is uncanny.
  2. Adam Fox reinforced his position as the league’s top defenseman with two assists, but it was his defensive play that was fantastic this game.  He was a force on the penalty kill and his ablity to deflect shots with his stick is amazing.  Just another great game in a long list of great games.
  3. Jacob Trouba get the third star for his defense, his scoring and his physical play. His devastating check in the second period changed the outcome, as it to took the Blackhawks out of the game.  When he gets his shots on net, he has one of the best shots on the team and he got the assist on Panarin’s open net goal.  He led the team with eight assists and his physical play set the standard for his teammates.

Honorable mention – Alexandar Georgiev needs recognition for another fine outing. He is getting better every game and it looks like his confidence is restored. Dujring a rocky first period by the defense, Georgiev held the team in the game and you can see the team believes in him.

The official stars of the game

What’s next

It’s a quick turnaround as the Rangers return home to face the Colorado Avalanche, everyone’s preseason pick to win the Stanley Cup  They are an offensive force and have scored 16 goals in their last three games.  It will be quite a challenge for the Blueshirts.  Puck drop is 7pm.
