4 winners from gritty Rangers 3-2 comeback win over Flyers

Spurred by Tye Kartye's snipe, Adam Fox's vision, and an end to their new sweater curse, the Rangers rallied past Philadelphia 3-2. Here are 4 clear-cut winners from MSG.

The New York Rangers made it two wins in a row after a nail-biting 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night. The Blueshirts debuted their new Hometown Remix threads, and unlike last season's Centennial celebration jerseys, they managed to grab a win on their first try.

It was a solid start for the Blueshirts, but a mid-game collapse had them scrambling heading into the third period. Luckily, a couple of heroes rose to the occasion to secure a much-needed two points over a lackluster Flyers squad.

Here are the clear-cut winners from Thursday night's comeback at the Garden.

Tye Kartye

This was turning into a genuinely scary game for the Rangers. After falling behind 2-1 in the second period, clutch goals from Pavel Dorofeyev and Tye Kartye pulled New York up and over the hump for a massive victory.

Kartye was the ultimate winner of the night, burying the game-winning tally on an absolute rip. A beautiful dish from Adam Fox, who continues to play his way into the same breath as the great Brian Leetch, sprung Kartye on a partial breakaway, and the young forward sniped it cleanly past Flyers goaltender Joseph Woll to send MSG into a frenzy.

Adam Fox

Speaking of Fox, he now has 21 points in 17 games this season and stands alone as the team leader in scoring. He has been just as dominant on the defensive side of the puck as he has offensively, and his steadying role on this roster remains remarkably underappreciated.

No. 23 finished the night with two assists, marking his third multi-point performance in his last five games. Norris Trophy voters had better take notice.

Gabe Perreault

Perreault desperately needed this goal. He needed it for his own confidence, and to prove that his electric start to the season was no fluke.

After going scoreless over his previous five games, No. 94 managed to redirect captain J.T. Miller's deflection off a Marcus Pettersson point shot, earning his fifth goal of the campaign. He was highlighted as an X-factor heading into the night, and he delivered by getting the Rangers on the board early in the first period.

Hometown Remix Jerseys

After the absolute debacle that was the Centennial jerseys last season, the Hometown Remix sweaters enjoyed a vastly different debut. Last year's 100th-anniversary celebration threads required six games before the team finally won one, eventually finishing the campaign with a miserable 3-8-0 record.

These new navy threads are now 1-0-0 after dispatching the Flyers. With five more appearances scheduled for the rest of the season, it could turn into a surprisingly positive omen for what is honestly a pretty mid jersey design.
