The Sunday matinee win is extra impressive when one considers the Blueshirts are coming off play just the day prior in Washington. It marks the fifth comeback win of the season for the Rangers in addition to being their largest margin of victory since Nov. 9.

Let's breakdown exactly how the Rangers got their latest win with five key takeaways from the matchup.

1. Louis Domingue First Win of the Year

Given starting goaltender Igor Shesterkin's current status on injured reserve and Jonathan Quick's loss against the Capitals on Jan. 4, Louis Domingue got the nod in the net.

Having been recalled from Hartford just five days ago, Domingue truly had some amazing saves against Chicago. His final statline included 25 saves and a .926 save percentage.

2. Four-Game Streak for Chytil

The second period saw Filip Chytil make the score 3-1 for New York with his corner-picker goal. This marked three goals and one assist for him in his last four games.

3. Will Borgen's First Point as a Ranger

With his goal in the first period to give the Blueshirts the lead, Will Borgen collected his first point as a Ranger. He is the 24th different skater to record a point for the Rangers this season.

New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury acquired defenseman Will Borgen, a third-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, and a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft from the Seattle Kraken in exchange for Kaapo Kakko.

4. Adam Fox on the All-Time Assist List

Adam Fox tied Brad Park (283) for fourth place on the franchise's all-time assists list among defensemen.

Fox tallied two assists in the four-goal win. He assisted Johnny Brodzinski in his goal — which also happened to be the Rangers' first of the day — as well as Chytil's previouslt mentioned goal in the second period.

5. Chris Kreider Upper-Body Injury

As revealed by the New York Rangers' PR Department and seen by Chris Kreider not playing on the ice, Kreider was unavailable for play in Chicago given he is out day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Kreider is the longest-tenured player on the Rangers' roster. The Massachusetts native was drafted by New York as the No. 19 pick in the 2009 NHL Draft.

So far this season he has 15 points across 34 games played.
