Following an incredibly busy weekend with the 2025 NHL Draft, the New York Rangers will hold development camp this week.
Thirty two players will be participating in a matter of days, including 20 forwards, nine defenseman and three goaltenders. Ages range between the players from 17 years old, all the way up to 23 years old. The number 32 is noteworthy, as last year Director of Player Development Jed Ortmeyer only invited 29.
“That’s what this is all about,” Ortmeyer said of last year's camp. “Bringing all of these guys in together, building the bonds, the team camaraderie and family culture that we’re trying to build so when they do turn pro, they are already comfortable with each other, and they have those bonds. That’s what these development camps are all about.”
Here's a look at the full 2025 development camp roster, including some insight onto the noteworthy names.

Noteworthy names on the roster
Gabe Perreault
Already a New York Ranger and having played in five NHL games this year after being taken as the No. 23 overall pick back in 2021 — right-wing Gabe Perreault attending the development camp makes sense simply because he's only 20 years old.
Perreault won back-to-back gold medals with the United States at the 2024 and 2025 IIHF World Junior Championships, finishing in second in scoring at the 2025 tournament with 10 points on three points and seven assists. And while he hasn't tallied a point yet for the Rangers, there were a few close calls for him as the Blueshirts ended their season early in 2025, with a lot of fans questioning then-head coach Peter Laviolette's decision to healthy scratch Perreault.
While #NYR did pull out a win last night, we did see yet another healthy scratch out of the newest Blueshirt Gabe Perreault.@jmozarsky, @JennyStreeter3 and @Hannah__Eng break this decision down in Episode Two of the Blue Line Report.https://t.co/8KjwRp2Tmg pic.twitter.com/oKmZcdhXsu

Noah Laba
Born in 2003, the name Noah Laba might ring a few bells. This is because he's already active with the Rangers AHL affiliate of the Hartford Wolf Pack.
The 6'2", 210 pound defenseman was drafted in the fourth round, at No. 111 overall, by the Rangers in the 2022 NHL Draft. For 2024-25, he appeared in 29 games w/ Colorado College as a junior, scoring 26 points across 10 goals and 16 assists.
EJ Emery
Defenseman EJ Emery was actually drafted No. 30 overall by the Rangers in the 2024 NHL Draft. He's currently on the roster for the University of North Dakota after manning the blue line for the U.S. Under-18 Team — in which he totaled 16 assists in 61 games for the development program
Evan Passmore
Fresh off being selected by General Manager and President Chris Drury at No. 171, defenseman Evan Passmore will be making his appearance at camp just days after standing on stage at the Peacock Theater.
Passmore comes in at 6'5" and 212 lbs., and turns 19 this December. He's described as having impressive range and is supposed to be highly skilled in breaking up chances by separating players from the puck and shutting plays down entirely.

Callum Tung
Goaltender Callum Tung may be attending the camp, but he is another player already active with the Hartford Wolf Pack and appeared in 16 games as a freshman with UConn, posting a record of 10-4-1 with a .933 save percentage and a 2.01 goals-against average.
One-ice sessions take place July 1-2 for the annual Development Camp at MSG Training Center.
