The 2026 Winter Olympics officially get underway on February 6, 2026, and very soon we will have finalized hockey rosters for all the teams participating in the games. While we wait for that, we can get ready for the festivities by enjoying things such as jersey reveals, something Team USA did just this morning on Today on NBC.
Rooted in our legacy. Made for what comes next.

Team USA's uniforms have been pretty consistent over the last few seasons, and the latest edition is no different.

I was a big fan of the uniforms that Team USA wore at the Sochi games, the last Olympics that featured NHL players, and that's partially because it was a nod to the 1932 Olympic Games held in Lake Placid. This set feels very Rangers, especially the white jersey and the stripe pattern on the arms and lower torso.
That said, what comes next is official announcements of who will be part of the roster, outside of the initial six selected, and here's an up to date look at the Rangers most likely to sport these threads in a few short months when Blueshirts' bench boss Mike Sullivan steps looks to lead the squad to Olympic gold for the first time since 1980.
Adam Fox
Fox has got to be a near lock to make Team USA's roster, something that quite a few people turned their nose up at during the summer. Most of this stemmed from the perception, an incorrect one, that Fox had a disapointing 2024-25 season. It was another solid year for Fox, it just so happened that the Rangers sucked. In any case, the decision makers likely only care about what Fox has done lately, and that includes elite Norris Trophy level play.
Fox leads the Rangers in scoring with three goals, 18 assists, and 21 points through 24 games, and that is something few saw happening. From an analytics perspective, Fox has logged 453 minutes at 5v5, and has posted a 61.18 goals for percentage, a 56.64 Corsi for percentage, and a 58.36 expected goals for percentage. The opposition is averaging just 1.71 goals against per 60 minutes when Fox is on the ice, something that is very, very good per Evolving-Hockey.
From an all in point of view, Fox has been worth 16.8 synthetic goals according to Hockey Viz, and the stat is essentially an above replacement stat. The Rangers generate 0.55 expected goals for per 60 minutes when Fox is on the ice, which is 23 percent higher than the league average skater. They also allow -0.22 expected goals against per 60 minutes, which is nine percent less than the league average skater. His 5v5 offense rating is +9.2, his defense rating is +3.7, and he's a net +0.5 in special teams situations. No matter how you look at it, Fox has reaffirmed his standing as one of the NHL's elite defenders, and someone who should be part of the top four for Team USA
Vincent Trocheck
Trocheck is a forward who initially I thought would be a victim of the numbers game, and the overall depth of Team USA. That is still a possibility, but considering injuries, and other players not having the greatest of starts, Trocheck feels like a great fit to be an all-around fourth line center for Team USA.
The Rangers' alternate captain has appeared in just 10 games, but he's already got four goals and assists for eight points. His underlying numbers are fair, considering his lack of playing time and overall adjusting to Mike Sullivan's system, and his slash line includes a 56.72 GF%, a 55.8 CF%, and a 48.08 xGF%. He's still getting back into the swing of things after missing a significant amount of time to start the season, but he's been an important part of the Rangers.
Given the poor start to the season for J.T. Miller, and that he's currently dealing with his own set of injuries, I think there's a good chance Trocheck claims a roster spot in place of the Blueshirts' captain. A lot can change in the next few weeks, but Miller's chance of making the roster don't seem as strong as they once they did.
