New York Rangers Daily Dose: Isles New Third Jersey?, Diaz Coming Home
It’s Friday, New York Rangers fans. We made it. And it’s going to be a long-weekend for most of us. Thank goodness.
Here’s some news to help smooth your day.
Islanders third jersey revealed?- THEHOCKEYNEWS.COM
Yesterday, social media was alive with rumors of the New York Islanders new third jersey.
If the talk is true, the jersey would be comprised of black and white, a pure getaway from the traditional orange, blue, and white that has been with the team since its inception.
At least right now, the front of the logo will keep the “NY” as per their Stadium Series jerseys, which they unveiled when playing the Rangers in the 2013-2014 season.

However, the color scheme will be black, with three stripes on the sleeves of each side.
We are not posting images of the jersey because it appears not to be confirmed by the team’s official twitter, @NYIslanders. As of this morning, they have not made any mention of the rumored jersey.
However, if the proposed jersey comes to light, it begs the question: why?
The jersey looks more like a warm up jersey, nothing stands out aside from the white. It might be better served if there was a circled emblem on the front, with reference to the Islanders logo, and New York at the top, and Barclay’s Center at the bottom. Kind of a throwback uniform. Similar to the Chicago Blackhawks or Pittsburgh Penguins alternate jerseys?

Surely, a better concept could be thought up?
First it was the disbanding of the Ice Girls, and now this. Things are brewing for the Islanders. Their whole move to the Barclay Center has certainly caused a stir, and it’s not even the beginning of the season yet.
Head over heels to be a Ranger again- BLUESHIRTSUNITED.COM
In an article yesterday written by Jim Cerny, he talks about the return of Raphael Diaz to New York, and how much it meant for him to return.
"I had really good memories of New York, we reached the Stanley Cup Final and it’s just such a great organization, and a great bunch of guys with great chemistry…So I am just really excited to be coming back to New York"
Though his time was short that season after being acquired in a trade with the Vancouver Canucks, Diaz’s time was remembered in a positive light. His smooth skating and offensive ability, added another asset to the Rangers blue line. Also, he was rarely beaten on the defensive side of the puck.

Perhaps what made him a standout was that the Rangers were not as strong depth-wise with defensemen, as they are this year.
However, Diaz is just glad to be part of the fold again. He’s tasted the Final two seasons ago, and wants to be a part of that winning success again.
"I still remember every single game, every single moment from the Stanley Cup Final, of course, and it hurts still to come that close and every game was so close…We want to go back there as a team. I think it’s important to have a real goal in mind, and for us that’s what the goal is"
The major players are still in place, along with some added players, so why not Ralphie, why not?
And that’s a wrap for today. Join us tomorrow for another edition. Have a great Labor Day weekend!
Talk to you all later!
