8. 2014 Finals, Game 1: Justin William’s overtime goal

The Stanley Cup Final vs the Los Angeles Kings was much closer than it looked. The Rangers lost the series in five games, but all three games in Los Angeles went to overtime, two to double OT.  This was the first one.

The Rangers went up 2-0 on goals from Benoit Pouliot and Carl Hagelin, but the Kings came back to tie in the second period.  The game was 2-2 in the last minute and Hagelin had a chance to win on a breakaway, but was stopped by Jonathan Quick.

Justin Williams capitalized off a poor giveaway by Dan Girardi five minutes into overtime and put the puck past Henrik Lundqvist in a game that set the tone for the rest of the series.
